    Marshall's 43th Annual Historic Home Tours will take place on Sept. 8-9, 2007 Each year on the weekend after Labor Day, Marshall opens its doors to thousands of visitors to enjoy seeing about eight historic homes, four museums, a business and a church, that are featured on the tour. While strolling the tree shaded streets, choirs, quartets, dulcimers and even brass bands entertain Marshall tour goers! Antique shows and a juried art fair tempt the pocket book. 800-877-5163

  • AFSP Out of the Darkness Community Walk, Fell Park in Battle Creek Michigan.
    Short walk 1.5 to 3 miles to raise awareness and funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Preventions. Half of the money will be used for local outreach programs. Half goes to the National Office to fund research projects and develope prevention programs. AFSP Also supports survivors of suicide (those who have lost a loved one) 269-913-2248

  • 2008 Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival, 3140 5th Avenue, Battle Creek.
    This summer’s event is expected to have up to 65 hot-air balloons. The morning launches will take place throughout the countryside and from the parking areas at the W.K. Kellogg Airport. The evening launches will either be fly-ins to the airport with various targets that the balloonists will be trying to hit with a marker they throw or the balloonists will launch from the field and fly to a designated target out in the countryside. The event grounds will be filled with an array of: Excellent eateries Novelty/Flea Market Vendors Fun shopping Military wearables Collector planes Logo merchandise and more. Crafters will display homemade/hand decorated items from jewelry to puppets so plan for shopping and great food!
