  • TC’s Speakeasy and Michigan Ability Partners present “The REACH Out Tour” Local Bands Play for a Good Cause, TC’s Speakeasy located at 207 W. Michigan Ave, Ypsilanti.
    On Friday, October 5th TC’s Speakeasy in Ypsilanti is hosting a fundraiser for Michigan Ability Partners (MAP) housing program, REACH (Realizing Excellence in Affordable Community Housing). Four local bands are volunteering their time to raise money for people with disabilities who are homeless and in need of housing support services. The bands include: Paul’s Big Radio, Laurels of Bedford, Brandon Wiard and South of Six.   • "Covering Ground"--56th Annual EMU Dance Concert, Quirk Theatre in the Quirk Building on the EMU Campus.
    The dancers at Eastern Michigan University will present an exciting and marvelously varied concert set by EMU Faculty and Guest Artists this month. This year’s concert, entitled “Covering Ground,” promises to be one of the most eclectic in the 56-year history of the annual concert. The performers will be dancing everything from Pointe to Hip-Hop, from Modern to Fosse to Caribbean-influenced Afromodernism to Broadway. The pieces presented will cover subject matters as interesting as the dance genres they employ.
